Sherry Hicks
Solo Works
Sherry's long involvement in Children of Deaf Adults, CODA, a educational and support organization for the hearing children of Deaf parents has given her a unique perspective on issues and trends that effect codas and kodas( Kids of Deaf adults).
Sherry is an interpreter, interpreter educator, ASL teacher and coda entertainer. Some of her solo work can be divided into the following sections:
- Interpreted Theatre - Sherry has vast experience in a variety of venues, with a myriad of styles. She has been called one of the best musical interpreters in the business. (Read More)
- Workshops - Sherry offers a variety of workshops geared toward different audiences. Her work has already taken her all over the world. Sherry has had the opportunity to teach at several distinguished institutions such as:
Vista College in Berkeley, CA.,
Ohlone College in Fremont, CA. (Interpreter Preparation Program),
LaGuardia Community College, Long Island City, NY (Interpreter Education Program)
She has taught most courses of an interpreter education curriculum and ASL classes using Signing Naturally extensively.
